Our 10th anniversary

Marie-Helene Cussac Soprano concert Saint-FlourI did not sing you a Happy Birthday Marilyn style for our 10 years of the “August concert”, yet we did celebrate in style, didn’t we? What an atmosphere there was that night of August 16th, 2023, in the Saint-Flour cathedral!

As a “happy birthday”, I had picked your favourite encores from the past years ; what a surprise, and huge emotion, to hear you all sing Cohen’s Halleluja! What voices! And what a sound your applauding generated, all the way up there by the organ! Nicolas and I were literally taken aback.

I wished to treat you with my most symbolic little present (seeds of Oriental poppies, delphiniums, columbines, and French marigolds), yet I got caught up in my own game… for I was the one to be moved by your numerous and heart-warming presence. Getting there 45 mn ahead of time, singing along at the top of your voice, daring to dance a bit even while singing Halleluja. La Vie en Fleur? You definitely were the ones blooming that night! 🙂

Here are snapshots of this unforgettable evening, including a photo with Saint-Flour shopkeepers as a thank you note for the flyers and posters they have been kindly accepting for the past… 10 years(!)

Thank you loads to our cathedral, its parish and diocese, and to our town hall for their support. Mr Vicar Genral, Mr Mayor, know your presence was appreciated.

Every time I handed out a poster or flyer, I was getting… “Morricone?”, and I could see your eyes lighting up. See you in 2024 for other cinema references. You may wish to revise your childhood classics . 😉

With all my love
